Why does the exact Tesla alert ID matter?
Record the exact alert ID, including underscores, suffixes, and companion alerts. Tesla alerts that look similar can point to different modules, timestamps, and service procedures.
What does BMS-F061 mean?
Tesla fault code in the Battery Management System (BMS) module. There is a Battery Management System (BMS) power supply problem. THe BMS system is operating at an out-of-bounds supply voltage.
Original Description
There is a Battery Management System (BMS) power supply problem. THe BMS system is operating at an out-of-bounds supply voltage.
Affected Tesla Models
What You May Notice
- Vehicle behaves erratically โ unexpected power cuts or charging interruptions
- BMS may reset spontaneously
- Multiple battery alerts appear together
How to Diagnose and Resolve
- 1 Check 12V auxiliary battery voltage โ a weak 12V can cause BMS power supply issues
- 2 If 12V is below 12V, replace it (standard Tesla 12V AGM battery)
- 3 Reboot after 12V replacement
- 4 If alert persists with healthy 12V, schedule Tesla Service
- 5 BMS power supply regulator may need replacement
Severity Notes
BMS-F061 is classified as a Fault, indicating a critical issue in the Battery Management System system. Do not continue driving and contact Tesla Service immediately.
