Why does the exact Tesla alert ID matter?

Record the exact alert ID, including underscores, suffixes, and companion alerts. Tesla alerts that look similar can point to different modules, timestamps, and service procedures.

What does EPAS-D036 mean?

Tesla diagnostic code in the EPAS (EPAS) module. Motor Driver: Comparison of Voltage Vector Angle failed. The deviation between the voltage vectors of the Pulse Width Modulation (PWM) output and the Voltage phasor, which is using the synchronous generated voltage, phase current, and the Motor model, is calculated as too large. From the rotor voltage, the measured currents and the motor model is closed to the applied voltage at the motor terminal, and the willed applied terminal voltage (PWM) is compared to the angle level. In addition, FOR has to be active and the number of rotor revolutions > 400 1 / min.

Original Description

  • Steering is functional but may feel slightly different

How to Diagnose and Resolve

  1. 1 Reboot the vehicle
  2. 2 Check for OTA software updates
  3. 3 Schedule service if the steering feels abnormal
